Intersession Parking Policy


Policy Details

Intersession Parking is to improve parking access to students, faculty, staff, contractors, vendors, visitors, and departments during time periods when parking demands are lessened and shuttle service is suspended or limited.

Faculty / Staff Zones

  1. Premium FS1 and FS2 permits will be honored in all FS1 and FS2 Zones.
  2. FS1, FS2 and FS3 permits will be honored in FS3 Zones.

Premium Student Parking Lots

A current WKU Permit, or active Park Mobile Payment is required in all Premium Student Parking Lots during the summer session. These lots are:

  1. Parking Structure 1 (H1)
  2. Parking Structure 2 (C1)
  3. Chestnut Street North (C2)
  4. Minton Lot (H2)
  5. Regents Hall Lot (H3)
  6. Normal Hall Lot (H3)
  7. Poland Lot (H4)
  8. Avenue of Champions (H4)

Non-Premium Student Lots

FREE PARKING is available in Non-Premium Student Parking Lots during the summer intersession. These lots are:

  1. Adams Street Lot (H6)
  2. Chestnut Street South Lot (H7)
  3. Normal Street South Lot (H8)
  4. Creason Lot (H9)
  5. University Blvd. Lot (HU)
  6. Kentucky Street Lot (C3)
  7. Park Street Lot (C4)

NOTE: Parking Structure 3 (H5) (C5) will be closed for the summer.

Public Parking

  1. All designated ParkMobile visitor spaces for metered parking (pay on demand) or reserved parking (pre-pay) will require payment via ParkMobile per normal parking regulation.
  2. Campus Visitors choosing to park in Premium Student Lots will pay through the ParkMobile app as well. During summer intersession only, it is not required to park in a space labeled “PAY”.
  3. Free parking is available in the Non-Premium Student Lots all summer.
  4. Customers needing parking permits can purchase daily, weekly, or monthly parking permits at the Parking & Transportation Services Office located at 578 Campbell Lane.

Disability Parking

  1. All disability spaces will be considered Tier 2 Spaces.
  2. A WKU visitor parking permit is required in conjunction with state issued disability parking credentials for spaces located in Faculty/Staff Lots.
  3. State issued credentials are honored in pay-on-demand or free parking lots. Disability parking, with state issued credentials will receive 2 hours free in addition to time purchased.

NOTE: Parking enforcement will continue throughout the summer.  Safety violations will be enforced in all lots.  Permit and paid parking regulations will be enforced as outlined for Summer Intersession Parking.
